Striped bass (Rockfish) fishing is wide open! AquaMan Sportfishing is currently striper fishing out of Smith Point Marina in Reedville, Va. The birds, bait and fish have all converged here and we are catching large numbers of fish. The average size is increasing daily and we are expecting some of the big boys to show soon. We are trolling and jigging with light tackle. Reedville is located on the Chesapeake Bay at the mouth of the Potomac River (Smith Point). It is an reasonable drive (couple hours) from Tidewater, Richmond and Northern Virginia. Trips are only $650 for the boat up to six anglers. We will usually leave the dock at 7:00am and fish until around lunch time. If we have to stay longer to get them, we will. It hasn’t been a problem lately. DIRECTIONS
You will come into the area on 360 east. You will see the Bay Motel on the right. 0.4 miles after the motel, turn left on Sunny Bank Rd. Then go 1.6 miles and turn right onto Smith Point Rd. Then go 0.9 miles and turn left into Smith Point Marina. Follow the drive around to the right and you will see a few bigger boats on the main dock. We are the first on the right. Park most anywhere as long as you don’t block anyone.
